The documentation for the transportation of cremated human remains is similar to that
required for non-incinerated cargo. However, the embalming certificate and burial
certificate are not necessary, as they do not correspond to this type of cargo.
Likewise,
the urn must be protected by a resistant wood or carton exterior package.
The shipper/exporter must
contact the consulates of the destination and transit countries in regard to the official
documents and visas required to import human ashes into the corresponding country.
Incinerated Human Remains
can be transportated inside a passenger's hand luggage. At the time of arrival,
documents must be presented to the authorities.
