LAN CARGO, an air cargo transport company owned by the LAN group, has its origins
primarily in LAN's cargo area, as well as two other important sources: Fast Air Carrier, a company
created exclusively for cargo transportation in 1978 and Ladeco, a Chilean passenger and cargo
airline company. Both were acquired by LAN, ultimately creating LAN as an independent and
specialized company that constitutes LAN's "cargo division".
The large scale globalization process that the region's economies have been experiencing since
the 70s, has motivated a constant increase in cargo activity and explains the industry's strong
growth, which has been led in the region by LAN CARGO.
In order to maintain its
leadership position over the years, LAN CARGO has incorporated
specialized technology and infrastructure, which has allowed it to remain a step
ahead of client needs and adapt to an ever-more competitive and demanding market.
With a seal of
innovation and business vision, LAN CARGO's historical results reflect the
leadership that LAN CARGO has held in its industry.
